Our goal is to provide a quality hand therapy service to all our patients in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only our providers, but our other patients as well. Please be aware of our policy regarding missed appointments.
When you book an appointment you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other patients. We will send a text / email reminder the day before your appointment if a mobile number or email address is provided by you. In order to be respectful of your fellow patients, please call Counties Hand Clinic as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment.
If cancellation is necessary, we require that you call at least 4 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another patient access to the appointment time.
If you need to cancel your appointment please call us at 09 238 1299. This is an off-site NZ based 24 hour call centre that can cancel or reschedule your appointment. Alternatively email office@handclinic.co.nz to advise of your cancellation.
A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the appointed time. A no show is when a patient misses an appointment without cancelling. We will charge a missed appointment fee of $30.00 if the re-opened appointment slot has not been filled. The patient will be invoiced directly. ACC does not cover cancellation fees. The decision to invoice a patient is at the discretion of the Director.
For new patients’ first appointments, a no show or late cancellation may result in a fee of $70.00 if the re-opened appointment slot has not been filled. This is at the discretion of the Director.
All ACC patient no-shows will be noted on the patient’s file.
